Helping customers – how the claims portal makes life easier for customers

The major purpose of a structural warranty is to provide assurance to home buyers (or tenants) that their new home is built to a high standard. This means that it is structurally sound, ensuring the safety and peace of mind of those who live there.

If things do go wrong, beyond snagging during the handover inspection and things you can avoid with the correct running in of your home, you may have a valid claim under your warranty policy.

We have covered the main features of warranty cover and the process of making a claim in this article.

Here, we introduce our online claims portal, and explain how this facility helps both you and us to manage your claim.

The LABC Warranty claims portal: keeping everything in one place

Anyone who’s ever made a claim on an insurance policy knows that keeping track of correspondence, knowing what actions you need to take and when, and collating and saving items of evidence is a time-consuming task. It can quickly become a complicated process and easy to lose track of where you’re up to.

The LABC Warranty online claims portal removes this confusion altogether. While anyone who hasn’t got Internet access or the skills to use an online system can call us, our new online portal is designed to simplify and accelerate the claims process.

It does this by keeping everything in one place. It comes with user-friendly prompts, so at each stage of the process you are guided as to what is required of you.

For example, the initial screens prompt you to determine which warranty policy you have, and act as a reminder for you to check your policy wording.

Because of their nature, warranty claims can be more complex than claims against car or contents insurance policies. Although uncommon, some claims involve logging and assessing several independent issues. The portal is designed to make this much easier for claimants to do.

The LABC Warranty claims portal: helpful and secure claims management

The portal helps you to ensure you provide all the information we need to fully assess your claim. This reduces the time it takes for you to make a complete claim and respond to questions, and for us to assess and process your claim. It limits the delay and disruption that can make claiming a frustrating process.

You can save your information and return to your claim at any time. So if you can’t put your hands on some information or piece of evidence, don’t worry. You can always save what you’ve done so far and come back to it when you have got it.

All the information is securely stored on our own systems, so your data is safe with us and treated according to all relevant privacy laws.

Intuitive and helpful as the portal is, we are still here to help you if you need it. If you need assistance please call us on 0800 183 1755.
