How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?

Extremely proud to have won this award. A lot of hard work goes into planning and running a development, but to have the added benefit of a great team working alongside me makes it that much better.

What does it mean to you personally?

There’s a lot of satisfaction generated from a development from the starting point to handing over the finished product, but to now see that all the effort has been recognised by LABC Warranty is a great sense of achievement…hopefully I haven’t peaked too soon!

What does it mean for your team / business?

From a team and business point of view it’s a clear indication we’re on the right track in producing a quality product that we’re sure our customers will be very satisfied with.

I’m lucky in the fact that I’m getting the recognition, but the whole development and business is involved in what we do and produce rather than just a single face.

What makes a good Site Manager?

I guess a good site manager will enjoy what they’re doing, accept they’ll always be learning and work and communicate with their team.

What challenges have you faced, like COVID, supply issues, the economy, and how have you overcome them?

The economy has had a huge impact on everything we’re doing, from price increases across the board to longer lead times on materials.

Overcoming all aspects has been a challenge, along with a minimal amount of storage space on site. We have been lucky-ish with trades as we’re a small company on a small development, so as long as we planned correctly we only needed a single gang from each trade, which then of course goes hand in hand with quality and speed, although there is still a juggling act to be played.

What one success in your work are you most proud of and why?

At this stage in my career winning this award for the successful management of Devonia Court, I have been fortunate to have learnt from great site managers so I am proud to show off what I have been taught.
