How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?
I was absolutely delighted when I found out about my award win. Winning a LABC Warranty award is the pinnacle of the house building industry and it was an absolute honour to be given the recognition.
What does it mean to you personally?
The award makes me very proud on a personal level. Proud of myself that my efforts are recognised but also proud of my team for their efforts and endeavours. The consistency of my team over a prolonged period is the key to our successes.
What does it mean for your team / business?
The award is very significant for the team and we are all proud to say that we are an award winning site. In terms of the business, Persimmon Homes became a 5* HBF homebuilder for the last period and winning such an award shows that as a business, our huge efforts and concentration on quality and getting it right first time are starting to pay off.
What makes a good Site Manager?
To me, a good Site Manager is someone who cares, takes pride in their team, site and product, is proactive, organised, motivated and dedicated. There is never a moment you can take your eye off the ball, there's always something to do.
What challenges have you faced, like COVID, supply issues, the economy, and how have you overcome them?
There is no doubt that the current economic climate and material supply issues have had an adverse effect in terms of delays and sequencing issues, however, being organised and proactive we have been able to adjust our ways of working in order to still achieve our deadlines and objectives whilst maintaining quality.
What one success in your work are you most proud of and why?
It sounds slightly cliché but winning the LABC Warranty award is definitely the one success I'm most proud of.
