How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?

On being notified of the award I felt a mixture of surprise, excitement and pride. I have always tried to do my job to the very best of my abilities and it’s incredibly rewarding when that is recognised.

What does it mean to you personally?

A huge amount, throughout my career I have strived to produce the very best homes I can and see this award as validation of that work.

What does it mean for your team / business?

I think it is important to recognise that the delivery of high quality new homes is not an individual effort and everyone in the team is delighted and proud to win this award.

What makes a good Site Manager?

I think you need a wide range of skills including team building, organisational, logistical and clear communication skills, the ability to problem solve and think on your feet. Quite often a sense of humour and a positive outlook is also very important!

What challenges have you faced, like COVID, supply issues, the economy, and how have you overcome them?

The pandemic and its subsequent effects on the construction industry’s supply chain has, at times, led to some extremely challenging situations.

This has tested the abilities of Site Managers and their teams to concentrate on even more detailed forward planning, seeking alternative options and the need to constantly adapt, often ‘thinking outside the box’ to ensure continued productive results.

Thankfully, the strength of our contractor and supply chain partner relationships has allowed us to continue to deliver to our high quality standards.

What one success in your work are you most proud of and why?

The last two years have been extremely challenging but through the strength we have developed in our team, producing high-quality homes on time is something to be very proud of.
