How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?

This is a great achievement and I am very proud to have been put forward and chosen for the award.

What does it mean to you personally?

This is recognition of the work I do to make sure a project is run smoothly and to a high quality.

What does it mean for your team / business?

I have a great team at Boston Road, and they have worked hard to ensure the project goals are achieved in all areas, so the recognition is also for them – they’re also very proud to be part of the team.

For the business, it showcases the extra effort Higgins puts in to ensure we provide a product our client can be pleased with.

What makes a good Site Manager?

I believe with good preparation, planning and programming a project will run smoothly, but an ability to adapt and change quickly to challenges that may arise on a project is also important to maintain smooth progress.

What challenges have you faced, like COVID, supply issues, the economy, and how have you overcome them?

This project has been running since the start of the COVID pandemic and through the more recent issues which have arisen including the breakout of war in Ukraine.

These have presented us with our fair share of problems with material procurement, price increases and availability of materials, they have required careful changes in sequence and logistics on site as well as a couple of specification changes to overcome delays and disruption, but we have still managed to achieve our completions.

What one success in your work are you most proud of and why?

In the past year this project has been awarded an LABC Warranty Bricks award, I have been nominated and won this award and we have completed units to an excellent standard, safely and ahead of schedule, allowing buyers to complete early and avoid interest rate rises, so I would say this could well be my biggest success.
