Warranty Position Regulatory Position and Guidance Exemptions Does B4 still apply?

Yellow indicates our position has the potential to be subjective   Red indicates that the item is NOT exempt. Refer to Regulation 7(3) Red shows that B4 no longer applies

 

Warranty Position

Definition: Boxed service zone that is installed to the internal surface of an external wall e.g. service void for SVP, RWPs, plumbing or electrical services.

Requirement: As long as the internal layers of the external wall (e.g. 2 skins of plasterboard) carry on uninterrupted behind the boxed out service area then the internally boxed out area will not be considered as part of the external wall.

Is the position indisputable? This may not be the view of all organisations.
