Meet the Bricks 2019 Finalists – Bricks and Mortar Partnership

We are just days away from The Bricks, where the best in the sector come together to celebrate quality in construction.

One of the award categories stands apart from the others. The Bricks and Mortar Partnership is to show our appreciation and recognise the importance of LABC Warranty’s partnership with Local Authority building control teams and organisations.

This award recognises the organisations that go above and beyond in supporting the warranty scheme and ensuring our partnership is successful.

Meet the three Building Control organisations that have been shortlisted for the 2019 Bricks and Mortar Partnership award.

Organisation: 3C Shared Services

Nominated by: Nick Kendall

“3C Building Control have always been advocates of our customers using LABC Warranty, consistently promoting the service. We feel that having the same DNA is a benefit to us and them and helps ensure projects are as good as they can be.

“Our finalist for best local builder from the East Anglia LABC Building Excellence Awards contacted us about a new dwelling and wanted to see what LABC Warranty could offer. 3C Building Control have a reputation for providing a quality service and our contacts are looking to leave their normal warranty suppliers for suppliers of greater quality. We feel LABC Warranty fulfil that.

“In my experience our customers value the diligence of 3C Building Control, recognising that we have the expertise to help produce compliant buildings. By then adding in LABC Warranty, we have the full package.”

Organisation: Hertfordshire Building Control

Nominated by: Trevor Clements

“Hertfordshire Building Control is a relatively new and successful organisation formed by the merger of local authorities in the county. It took a little time to establish an effective working relationship with LABCW but this past year with great communication we have formed a highly effective partnership to win work for LABC services.

“I have been highly impressed with the hard effort and professionalism of LABC Warranty colleagues in helping to build on the success of our new organisation and jointly make a big impact on the market in this region and personally I think that might warrant an award in recognition!”

Organisation: Southern Building Control Partnership

Nominated by: Sue Daly

“We have jointly promoted LABC Warranty on a number of occasions i.e. at our own regular lunchtime CPD events attended by around 40 architects, as well as at LABC breakfast briefings and LABC Roadshows. We are continually promoting LABC Warranty and our surveyors are really good at providing leads if they talk to self-builders or developers and find they don't have a warranty in place. I also write to all the new builds on the weekly planning lists from our three authorities, introducing both our services and when appropriate our Guide to Custom Build which includes a section on LABC Warranty.

“Aside from the free marketing material we make available at our regular CPD and customer events, we include the reference to the foundation depth calculator on all our surveyors' business cards so that every builder is aware of it. Your website is also a great source of information and I regularly send potential warranty customers links to the FAQs and other useful resources on there.

“When we work with LABC Warranty if feels like you really are an extension of our own team. We both understand what high quality customer service looks like and long may it continue!”
