The Bricks Winners 2020
Manor Farm Fields by Bloor Homes
The overall winners of The Bricks 2020 have been announced.
Find out what it means to win The Bricks - and what it takes to be an award-winning site.
In this article we speak to Jon King, Construction Director for Bloor Homes (Midlands) about Manor Farm Fields, winner of Development of the Year (over 100 units) North.
What does this award mean to you, your team and business?
Bloor homes is delighted to be recognised by LABC Warranty with this award for Manor Farm Fields for the second year in a row. To win Development of the Year for this region is testament to the hard work and commitment of the team on site, who go the extra mile to deliver exceptional homes for our customers. With the last 12 months proving challenging for our staff, customers and partners, I am proud that we’ve achieved this. We have continued to deliver quality homes and build communities across the region.
What does winning this award mean to your customers and stakeholders?
We work hard to build exceptional homes of quality and to win this prestigious award is recognition of this. Since we launched in 2019, the collection of homes at Manor Farm Fields have proved extremely popular and there was a tremendous response from customers even before we even released the first homes for sales.
This award means that our customers and stakeholders have the endorsement of LABC Warranty that confirms the Bloor Homes not only offers quality homes in a range of styles, but that our methods of construction and working are employed with the highest level of care and attention to detail.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome in creating Manor Farm Fields?
Since we first acquired the site in Mickleover we have worked with the local community and engaged with local stakeholders as much as possible. There was a certain amount of trepidation in the early stages as it was a greenfield site. As construction began we made a commitment, which as a housebuilder we always do, to support the local community where we could.
We have sponsored Mickleover County Park FC, and we also worked with South Derbyshire Council and the Royal British Legion to name the streets of Manor Farm Fields after the men from Mickleover and the surrounding areas who gave their lives in the First World War.
What about Manor Farm Fields makes you most proud?
The team at Manor Farm Fields makes me most proud. It is through their continued dedication, perseverance and commitment in delivering homes built to the highest quality that has led us to achieving this deserved accolade – the site is a credit to them all.
The site manager Harry Bramwell and his team Paul Collier and Paul Longbottom have all worked tirelessly to build what is going to become another exceptional Bloor Homes development.
Without doubt this is a coveted industry award, and I am immensely proud and so pleased that their efforts this year have been both recognised and rewarded.
