Q: How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?
A: I was absolutely over the moon to find out that I had won the LABC Warranty Regional Site Manager of the Year award. A lot of effort goes into the development, so it’s a great feeling to be recognised.
Q: What does it mean to you personally?
A: I have a passion for building, it's more than just a job for me. From the first day to the last day on site I am always aiming to deliver the highest quality possible. To be completely honest, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to present my passion to everyone involved in fantastic developments like Treberth Crescent.
Q: What does it mean for your team / business?
A: LABC Warranty and Hale Construction have a superb relationship. Being recognised by LABC Warranty is welcomed by everyone in the team. So many people are involved behind the scenes too. They are just as important to the development as I am.
Q: What makes a good Site Manager?
A: A good site manager has to have passion for what he or her does. You have to fully immerse yourself into the development. Think outside the box and always implement things you have learnt in the past. You have to respect your team. Work with them, not against them.
Q: What one success in your work are you most proud of and why?
A: My last development won The Bricks Social Housing Development of the Year. That is by far my biggest success to date. Five blocks of timber frame set over three and four floors. A tight footprint with lots going on. A really challenging development but one that I thoroughly enjoyed. I couldn’t be more proud when we went to London and brought the award back home to the team.
