The companies within the MD Group have been established to provide and administer insurance, surveying, building control and other related services. MD Insurance Services Limited is a managing general agent acting as an underwriting agency on behalf of a panel of insurers.

In assessing any claims you make against a policy (if applicable), we or our agents may undertake checks against: publicly available information about you such as the electoral roll, county court judgments, bankruptcy orders or repossessions; financial crime detection agencies and insurance industry databases; and information held internally, by other companies within the MD Group, or by any of our affiliated companies within the Munich Re Group. Your information may also be shared with other insurers either directly or via those acting for us for example, loss adjusters and investigators.

We are currently conducting a trial with a software company, the aim of this trial is to improve the conciliation and claims experience for all parties. Should you report potential defects to our Dispute Resolution Service or to our Claims Team you may be invited to join a software portal. This portal will allow information to be uploaded and shared by all parties with the aim of expediting the conciliation process or any repairs authorised by our claims team.

It may be necessary to transfer your information to other companies within the MD Group, HSB, affiliate companies within the Munich Re group or service providers located both inside and outside the European Economic Area for any of the above purposes and for system administration. Any transfers made will be in full compliance with all aspects of the Data Protection Act 2018 and in accordance with the UK GDPR.

Any data submitted may be used for marketing purposes provided we have a legitimate interest to do so. If you have expressed an interest in a job role and contacted the MD Group, then we will respond to you accordingly. This may be by telephone, email or written correspondence.
