The winners of the Bricks 2018 were announced at the incredible Sushi Samba venue. Overlooking central London our worthy finalists were treated to a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. Guests were entertained by Gyles Brandreth and soulful arrangements from The Gents quartet, before finding out if they would be taking home a prestigious award.

So, who won at the Bricks 2018 and why did our judges pick the winners?

Category: Development of the Year (2-10 units)

Winner: Randall & Chisnall Construction Ltd

Site: Home Guard Mews

The Judges said: “The standard of workmanship was evidenced across all trades on this winning site; this builder had to overcome site size restrictions for handling materials and access, but despite this these they have managed and produced an excellent job.”


Category: Development of the Year (11-50 units) – North

Winner: High Grange Developments Limited

Site: Keekle Meadows

The Judges said: “The quality on this site was extraordinary, it was kept very clean and tidy and was clearly a very well built development being constructed to a high standard. The detailing was exceptional and the workforce were happy and had clearly bought in to the culture of quality enforced by the business.  Attention to detail was second to none.”

Category: Development of the Year (11-50 units) –South

Winner: Heritage Developments SW Ltd

Site: The Chasse Phase II

The Judges said: “An absolutely stunning site with excellent rendering and brickwork and immaculately tidy. The atmosphere on site was good and the workforce were clearly well skilled, with everyone knowing what they should be doing at all times and working as a team. The fit out and finish on the site was impressive quality to match the excellent brick work.”


Category: Development of the Year (Over 51 units) – North

Winner: Bloor Homes

Site: Saxon Gate, Crewe

The Judges said: “The judges commented that this was a great site with nice elevations and a set of interesting houses. The site itself was both clean and tidy and it had nice joinery.”

Category: Development of the Year (Over 51 units) – South

Winner: Bloor Homes South Midlands

Site: Ampthill Chase

The Judges said: “This winner and company build consistently to a high standard across the country and have an excellent reputation. The organization, planning, sequence of work and finished product, from foundations to finish a truly deserving winner.”


Category: Social Housing Development of the Year

Winner: Willmott Partnership Homes Ltd

Site: Bristol Grove

The Judges said: “A clean, tidy and well organised. The brickwork seen on site was excellent. Our surveyor said the organization on this site was really something special.”


Category: Multi-Storey Development of the Year

Winner: Redrow Homes Ltd

Site: Colindale Gardens

The Judges said: “Some of the complexities on this site really made the development exceptional. It had a great street scene with a good mix of styles, the site was kept very clean and safety was paramount, starting from foundations, concrete frame, brick cladding, finish and external work, quality and control was evident.”

The Judges said: “Customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything he does. His sheer determination to learn and improve on his skills has gained the respect of his peers and I’m sure he will continue to succeed throughout his career in the construction industry.”

The Judges said: “This person is extremely dedicated and driven in everything they do. Always going the extra mile to get the job done and make a real difference to the business and the community as a whole.”

Winner: London Borough of Haringey

The Judges said: “By involving us early on in the planning stages this local authority understands the importance of delivering the highest level of technical knowledge and support to customers by ensuring we work together as a solid partnership.”
