What does winning Site Manager of the Year mean to you and your team?
Massimo: “Winning the Site Manager of the Year award is great testament and recognition of the hard work which both the client team and contractors, Kier and Rydon Construction, achieved to deliver this logistically difficult project.”

What was the biggest challenge on your site and how did you overcome it?
Massimo: “Apart from the logistical issue of getting people and materials onto and around this very confined site, the biggest challenge was with managing many of the unexpected structural and asbestos issues expected to encounter in a structure of the age and size. Having both local LABC officers Rob Clements (Principal Building Surveyor at Bath and North East Somerset Council) and Jonathan Smith (LABC Warranty Risk Management Surveyor) at hand to discuss and agree the remedial measures, ensured that these matters were resolved promptly without any significant impact on programme.”

What aspect of the site and work are you most proud about?
Massimo: “The most rewarding aspect of this scheme was receiving positive feedback from many of our customers/apartment owners over the quality of the finished product and excellent design in converting what was an old redundant 1960s office block into a modern apartment block. This being testament of all the hard work everyone put into delivering this scheme.”
