How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?

Being told that I’d won the regional site manager award for the North West was an absolutely brilliant surprise! I was thrilled beyond belief, especially going up against lots and lots of excellent site managers.

What does it mean to you personally?

Personally this award means so much to me and my site team, the drive and enthusiasm I have as a manager holds no bounds, this award has pushed me even further to become an even better manager and human being.

What does it mean for your team/business?

Winning this award is excellent for my company, Morris Homes, and everyone in head office congratulated me. These awards go up as pride of place in our main entrance, showing off proudly what great team members they have.

My team who’ve been along side me for many years have always thrived off the enthusiasm I give them when I win an award, winning this one has meant so much to them, they all fully understand that without them I would not ever be in a position like this. I always make my team feel special, they all have the same mind set and positivity as me, every job we undertake they stand back, chests out, proud of what we’ve accomplished.

What challenges have you faced and overcome in 2023?

2023 has been a difficult year , the material issues throughout the construction industry have been felt on site, however extra planning and keeping in close contact with suppliers does help, external labour is very much up and down, with some trades having plenty of staff with others struggling, a lot of site meetings has been the agenda, keeping in close contact with them has helped me.
